ALEXANDRIA, VA, November 21, 2003 -- Military Historical Tours of Alexandria is searching for the survivors of Bataan and Corregidor for a special return-trip back to the Philippines Jan. 11-20, 2004. In this coming year of World War II retrospect, and the dedication of the national WW II Memorial in Washington, America turns its eyes on the sacrifice of those who gave so much for world freedom.

For that reason, Dark Horse Media International will accompany this special tour back to Luzon Island, and will be filming and documenting the exploits and stories of the survivors. Family members, and surviving family members of the veterans involved, are also encouraged to participate in this unique experience. The first program will be developed as a pilot, to be aired in the spring of 2004 on the Discovery Channel.

This special tour will start in Manila and progress along the same places and time-lines of the history of late 1941 and early 1942, as the island of Luzon crumbled under the advance of the Japanese. Names such as Corregidor, Bataan, Sangley Point, Clark Airbase, the Battle of the Trails, Orion, Abucay, and Mount Samat will come alive in the narrative histories, as the Japanese campaign led to the Death March from Mariveles to San Fernando. The notorious prison compounds of Camp O'Donnell and Cabanatuan will be highlighted, and much, much, more.

Optimum time will also be spent at Subic Bay, which became a strategic
focal point for Japanese naval and supply control. Here, the tour will
feature a special ground-breaking ceremony for a new "Hell Ships" Memorial, dedicated to the American military and civilian prisoners who died in the bombing and sinking of the Oryoku Maru and several other Japanese prison ships. Other ceremonies will also be conducted at the American Cemetery in Manila, as part of the tribute owed to all the American and Filipino soldiers and sailors who died during this important period in history.

We need the stories... in your words... and urge survivors, veterans,
and any surviving family members to contact us for more information
concerning this important return tour to the Philippines. We can never
forget this history or our unique partnership with the people of the
Philippines. It will only live as long the people who lived it will allow us to share in their stories.
